Format Guide
Which format to pick, and how to get small files that still look sharp.
WebP
photos · graphics · transparencyTypically 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same quality, supports transparency, and works in every modern browser. The best default for the web.
AVIF
smallest filesOften 20–50% smaller than WebP. Works in every browser via a built-in encoder, but it's slower — large photos can take several seconds each. Resize first to speed it up.
JPG
universal compatibilityWorks everywhere, including email and older software. No transparency — transparent areas are filled with the color you choose.
PNG
lossless · sharp edgesBest for screenshots, line art and logos that need pixel-perfect edges. The quality slider doesn't apply — resize to make PNGs smaller.
Choosing Quality
70–85Most photos look identical to the original at 75–85. Use the Compare view to check before you download.
Resize First
4032px → 1920pxHalving the width removes about 75% of the pixels. Resizing to the size you actually display saves more than any quality setting.
Metadata Removed
EXIF · GPS · cameraOutput files carry no EXIF data, so location and camera details are stripped. Rotation from the camera is applied first.
Pairs With File Renamer
-min suffixSet a suffix here, or leave it blank to keep the original names, then batch-rename the downloads with the File Renamer tool.
